Confidentiality and data protection policy
The staff at Sunny Day Care is aware that information relating to children is sensitive and needs to be handled carefully, we will not disclose any personal details without permission except the following circumstances:
The confidentiality will be breached if we have any concern for the safety and wellbeing of the child and we will contact Social services immediately.

It is our intention to respect the privacy of children and their parents and carers while ensuring that they access high quality care and play opportunities in the settings.
We will ensure that all parents can share their information in the confidence that it will be used to enhance the welfare of their children.
Data protection
We keep relevant and accurate personal information and not use any personal data held for any other purposes than required. We will deal with that information fairly, with respect to the confidentiality and do not abuse the information.
Any personal information will not be given without a parent written permission. We will ensure that parent’s signature is always in place.
We will disclose the information which is necessary to fulfil our obligations.
In case of emergency /a child is thought to be at risk of significant harm/ we will share information with a professional who need to know it.
