I appreciate that working parents have to be able to go to work, however if a child is unwell then they will be better cared at the comfort of their own home with parent.
I will care for children with minor coughs and colds.
I will NOT CARE for children who are very unwell, infectious or running a high temperature as we need to consider the welfare of all the children in our care.
If a child has diarrhoea or sickness in the last 24 hours parents should not bring them.
Parents inform us that the child will absent and the reasons for absence.
If a child becomes ill whilst in our care I will:
- make them as comfortable as possible
- isolate them if necessary
- contact the parents immediately / if we I am unable to contact the parents I will contact people listed as emergency contact/
There is a supply of basic First Aid equipment and Calpol /Paracetamol/
I will not administer any Calpol unless it is agreed with parents.
I will not administer any other medicine unless it has been given from the parents and parent’s permission being obtained at the relevant time.
